Frankenstein evokes literary themes that arguably parallel those found in the development of western thinking along several dimensions, including: social norms, political organization, scientific advancement, and economic production. Using your own critical thinking in conjunction with the Frankenstein text itself and the historical material we have studied this semester(scientific revolution & enlightenment. or the renaissance.) , write a paper where you explore and develop potential analogies between the theme listed below and Mary Shelley’s book. Your analysis should be a minimum of 6 pages. Please refer to the grading rubric linked below for more detailed information on the specific expectations for this assignment. Provide Citations and a work cited page at the end of the paper, MLA formatting. “Light” as representing humanity’s pursuit of knowledge, innovation and progress. “Darkness” as representing the absence of knowledge and progress.
