Public Policy Formulation and Implementation.
1. Please differentiate between public policy and policy analysis. Also please define distributive, redistributive, regulatory and self-regulatory policies. What are issues that may arise with the use of each policy type? 2. According to Dye, “A model is a simplified representation of some aspect of the real world.” The models of politics are conceptual models that are used to help us better understand politics and the policymaking process. Please describe the eight policy making models/models of politics. Please include in your discussion the major tenets of the models as well as strengths and weaknesses 3. Public Policy impacts every area of our lives—how we are born, how we live and how we die. Please describe the policy making process in the United States and identify the various actors at each stage in the process and how they impact the policymaking at that stage. Identify a particular public problem and discuss how it might move through the policymaking process. Be sure to discuss subsystem politics. 4. Most of us are familiar with the goals of efficiency and effectiveness. What other criteria might a policy maker consider in developing public policy and when that criteria might be used. Please provide specific examples.
