ANTH 160: World ArchaeologyAssignment 1: Thinking Like an ArchaeologistDue: Oct. 15th, 11:59.Archaeologists study people 2.Archaeologists learn very little from individual artifacts 3.To do archaeology well, you must observe how people interact with the material world today. Guidelines For Effective Short Papers:1.Have a point2. Get to the point3. Stick to the point4. Only talk about yourself if you matter, and you probably don’t.The assignment for this assignment I want you to examine the contents of your (choose 1) closet, your book bag, your desk, your car, or something like that. Using 3-4 of the objects you find, I want you to figure out what the person who used these objects was like (e.g., who they were, how they lived their life). One more thing—for this assignment you cannot read anything written on the objects you find. You can’t read the books, you can’t read anything on computers, and you can’t read the labels on anything. As far as you are concerned, anything you find is written in a language you do not know. The focus of this assignment is to learn how to think like an archaeologist—that is, to learn how to study and examine artifacts in order to study how people live(d). Remember the three secrets of archaeology, but particularly the first two secrets. Don’t just describe 3-4 objects. Examine how the 3-4 together tell you about the person who used them. Be careful to explain how you come to your conclusions. Also, go into greater detail about fewer things rather than superficially describe many. Finally, remember the guidelines for effective short papers. The paper must be about 750 words long (about 2-3 pages) The Paper should be double-spaced
