Questions: 1. What is a media representation of foreigners in the context of rising multiculturalism? 2. How multiculturalism affected the myth of mono ethnicity? (or How WILL multiculturalism affect the myth?) 3. What are Japan’s future multiculturalism challenges in relation to the case studies? The word count for this assignment is 2000 words +/- 10% excluding the reference list. Since this is a research essay, it must be more than just a descriptive discussion. Hence, it is expected to engage with the relevant academic literature in the area. I will upload some journal articles that you can cite as case studies, as well as some literature addressing Japan’s multicultural issues. You would need to research and refer to other literature to reinforce the argument. The contents of the essay are expected to be stuck with the topic above but you can extend the argument coherently if needed. Below are criteria that are going to be used to evaluate the essay.
