Description The purpose of this assignment is to learn how to research and analyze proposed constitutional amendments for the State of Texas. For this assignment, you will research two of the ten proposed amendments that are being presented to the Texas voters on November 5, 2019: SJR 79 (Links to an external site.) The constitutional amendment providing for the issuance of additional general obligation bonds by the Texas Water Development Board in an amount not to exceed $200 million to provide financial assistance for the development of certain projects in economically distressed areas. HJR 151 (Links to an external site.) The constitutional amendment allowing increase distributions to the available school fund. Use the following outline to prepare your paper: 1. Provide an introduction to your reader about the purpose and process of this election and assignment (must cite to a minimum of 2 sources in this section (your textbook is a good source here). 2. Analyze each of the proposed constitutional amendments individually, covering the following information for each: a. Explain in your words the purpose/goal of the amendment b. How did your House and Senate Member vote on the amendment? c. Positives of the Amendment d. Negatives of the Amendment e. Will you vote for or against each amendment? Explain why.
