Choose an organization to study; Read up on the kind of work they do, and the kinds of things organizations like that have to deal with; Use the project worksheet as a guide to organizing your information about the group; Using all of the relevant course materials as a guide COURSE MATERIALS INCLUDE (pick as many that will be relevant to the paper): Karl Marx, Weber, durkheim, Harry Braverman, Taylorism, scientific managment, Organizational dysfunction, Maslow hierarchy of needs, systems of control in the Workplace, development of rational systems, self actualization, Types of authority: (rational, charismatic, traditional), human environment in the workplace etc Decide what sorts of things you need to know about the group to define who or what they are, what defines organizations like them, and what their organizational field is like; Use whatever sources of information you think would help to learn more about the field; Write a paper defining the organization using this data, and mostly guided by the project worksheet.
