Upon graduation you earn a job as an elementary or middle school teacher. You must now plan your annual budget. Where will your money go and how much will you have left over for savings? Things that should be considered: What will it take for you to live on your own? What will you be able to cut out? You can’t get any money from parents, relatives, etc. 1. Research the first year teacher salary in a district you hope to get a job. (Do not use average teacher salary, as this will be too high) 2. Compile a list of expenses that you will need to live completely on your own.
