Critical paper in a community based social influence issue
Each of you will compose a critical paper (10-12 pages, excluding the title page and references) by selecting among the theories introduced in the course textbook, our class discussions, and in each student’s own library, and field research. I would encourage you to situate this critical paper in everyday life experiences of social influence and attitude change in your community. The paper should have three clear sections. Please put section headings on the top of each section: 1) Community Based Social Influence Issue Section: In this section, please explain in detail the community based social influence issue that your paper is based on. Also, build up the context for your topic by referring to the academic sources related to your topic and explaining the information from them in detail. (Length- 3-4pages) 2) Theory/Theories Section: In this section, you will choose a theory/theories from the class that may help you to understand the social influence around the issue/topic you are writing your paper on. In this section, you will explain the theory/theories that you select in detail. Also please explain how these theories have been used previously by other people/scholars in their research or work. To do this you should bring in the academic sources outside the textbook, which discuss the theory/theories chosen by you in detail. (Length 3-4 pages) 3) Integration/Analysis Section: This is the most important section of your paper in which you would actually do an in-depth analysis of how the theories you have selected from the textbook connects to the community social influence issue on which your paper is based. You will go in detail how different postulates of a theory/theories help you to understand more about the different dimensions of social influence around your topic.
