History of Interpretation
The Paper is due Module 6. You should take a passage from the Scripture Worksheet from Module 1 (except, don’t take 1 Tim 2:3-4) and demonstrate two ways the passage is used in the course readings and one way it is used in a source outside the course readings. Please be sure to submit your Scripture choice this week! So, for example, the passage from Romans Chapter 9, Verses 6-16 is used in the Origen and Aquinas texts. Then, you would need to find one way this passage is used by an author outside of the course. For the basic paper outline, this is one suggestion: one paragraph introduction; one paragraph for each of the two examples from the course (Origen and Aquinas — two paragraphs total); one paragraph for the source from outside the course (example — Karl Barth); one paragraph with your own reflection and conclusion; one concluding paragraph. The length of the paper, per the University guidelines, is 1500-2100 words (5-7 pages). Depending on the length of your paragraphs, you could meet this word/page requirement with the 6-paragraph outline I provide above. Citations and a reference page should be provided and appropriately formatted. Particularly, if you use quotes, be sure to provide citations. Check the turnitin percentage after you submit the paper.
