Project PaperDue: Friday, Nov. 22, 11:59 pmThis is the final research Project Paper (12-15 pages) required for this course. We move toward completion of this project in sequence. That is to say, the previous two assignments (‘Reflection Paper’ and ‘Project Paper Abstract’) are meant to prepare you for this last assignment. You should start working on your Project Paper immediately. Yet in order to be ready forthe Project Paper, please, read and follow the instructions for the Reflection Paper and theProject Paper Abstract, first, so that you can see how these three assignments hang together. – This will make your life so much easier. Instructions: Your final Project Paper should be comprehensive in nature, i.e., pay attention to detail and fully develop each section. In addition to the course readings, cite at least 5 externalsources, a combination of traditional sources (books, magazines, periodicals, primary documents, etc.) and Internet sources, etc. Use ONLY academic sources, i.e., do not useWikipedia, Encarta, Encyclopedias, etc. Thus, you can draw on our texts by Gore, Friedman, and Zakaria, but these don’t count toward the required external 5. 1.Introduction (1-1.5 pages)Drawing on your Reflection Paper and your Project Paper Abstract, introduce your research project by briefly describing a globalization-related problem situation and its significance, i.e. the kind of challenge it poses in terms of gainingmore knowledge and taking action. Then, Formulate a thesis statement, and underline your thesis statement. 2.Challenged by Globalization (3 pages)In this section, discuss the significance of this problem situation. By incorporating the course readings. (Here and in the following sections, you can start bringing in information gathered from your 5 sources). Specify the nature of the problem announced by your thesis statement. What are the expected consequences, for whom, and over what period of time? Why does this situation call for action now?3.Historical Background (2-3 pages) Lay out the historical background or context of the problem. What contributed to the emergence of this problem? How did it gain momentum over time? Were there different factors involved at the beginning, and how did they eventually converge so as to give rise to the problem at hand? 4.Coping with Globalization (3-4 pages)Present a possible solution, or solutions, to the problem. “Solution” here is a matter of degree; the term does not always mean complete elimination of the problem, which is the ideal case. If this cannot realistically be expected, your proposed coping strategy, or strategies, should make concrete suggestions for action aimed at noticeable improvement within a designated time frame. 5.Viability (2 pages)Politically speaking, explain how viableyour solutions are. How easy or difficult would it be to implement your suggestions? What kind of resistance or obstacles might occur? 6.Conclusion (1-2 pages)Summarize the urgency and scope of the issue, and highlight the recommended steps for action, both short-term and long-term.7.Bibliography Format/Requirements: 12-15 pages; double-spaced; font size 12; Times New RomanMLA Style of citation & bibliography Minimum 5 external sourcesTitle: “Project Paper [plus: subtitle of your choice]”Put the basic course information and your name in the upper left (or upper right) corner on the first pageNo separate title page necessaryInclude a word count at the en The book in reference is The world is flat by Thomas Friedman 5 external sources
