ASSESSMENT TASK 3 – Workplace Project
You are employed as property manager with a local agency who owns a good size rent roll. You have successfully listed a property and now need to write a marketing plan to be presented to the landlord for approval.
You are required to write the marketing plan using information supplied in the learning material. Alternatively you may research your own information or for those students currently employed in the real estate industry, you may use your agencies marketing strategies.
For the purpose of the project, please select a fictitious property or use your own.
ASSESSMENT TASK 4 – Demonstration
Using the marketing plan written above for the workplace project, you are required to write advertising copy for the chosen rental property to be advertised on www.realestate.com.au.
For examples of advertising on real estate search databases, refer to the ‘internet advertising’ fact sheets in the learner resources.
Features of the advertisement may include:
• Title – what is it and how does it draw the attention of the reader? Is it informative, descriptive, engaging?
• Layout – examine the combined effect of headings, columns, font type & size, images, colour
• Opening – how is the dwelling introduced? How effectively does it engage the reader? What techniques are used to do this?
• Structure – how is the information about the property organised? Examine the use of factual details, descriptions and comments about lifestyle
• Language – examine the descriptive language used, noting use of adjectives, descriptive phrases, similes, metaphors, alliteration, symbolism and so on. Are questions posed?
• Vocabulary – examine the language particular to this genre
• Visual elements – how do the illustrations complement the written text?
• Tone/Atmosphere – what mood is created and how? Is it upbeat, enthusiastic, informative?
