Produce a report setting out your review of decision making in a work place you know well, (in most cases, this is likely to be your current employer). Choose which aspect(s) of management decision making you are going to focus on. Then, draw upon theory relating to decision making introduced during the module to critically review the effectiveness of this decision making. You need to select and employ two different theories / theoretical viewpoints when conducting this review. This will allow you to look at your chosen decision making processes / scenarios in two different ways. Specific Criteria: Clearly introduce the assignment, the organisational setting and what aspects of decision making you have decided to review • Set out which two perspectives / theories from the literature you are employing and provide a brief discussion of the merits (and any criticisms) of each Using your chosen perspectives / theories, critically review the selected aspect(s) of managerial decision making in your organisation. Ensure you include coverage of any consequences arising from this decision making – including unintended ones • Based on the evidence above, recommend how this managerial decision making in your chosen organisation might be improved • Provide some critical reflections on your use of the chosen theories / theoretical viewpoints • Make effective use of a broad range of relevant literature to support your arguments
