Historically significant speeches

Within your team, identify an inspirational/motivational speech that has made a lasting impression on all of you (you should be able to find video or audio of numerous historically significant speeches online). Then, based on your discussions, write a team report that answers the following questions: What aspects traits and attributes of leadership are evident from analysing the speech? How and why has this speech inspired you? Would you consider this to be a greatest speech of all times? Why? Why not? Identify and comment on how the speech is being articulated and delivered. How has the leader engaged and captivated the audience/followers (in terms of practices, declarations, assessment of situations and assertions, promises and/or requests)? What key learnings are highlighted from analysing the above speech, with reference to the given context? Write your report using an appropriate report structure: Executive summary/abstract—summarises the main contents and findings of the report. Introduction—provides background information related to the speech, including the reason it was selected, its historical/political context, and the impact it made. Main discussion and analysis—draws on relevant literature and theory (at least 10 peer-reviewed/referenced journal articles); uses examples from the speech and links to the theory; clear argument and reasoning in line with purpose of the report; analysis and critical reflection of leadership demonstrated through the speech. Conclusion—implications and brief summary i.e. a summary of how the elements of leadership theory were embodied within the speech. Presentation, format and referencing—citation of all evidences/references used, using Swinburne Harvard referencing style. Appendix—include a link to a video or audio recording of your selected speech. Only do 550 words of “Identify & comment on how the speech is being articulated & delivered. How has the leader engaged & captivated the audience/followers (in terms of practices, declarations, assessment of situations & assertions, promises &/or requests)? “
